Global Village Academy Fort Collins will be in its second year in the 2014-15 school year. We are opening a brand new building and are looking for Principal candidates who feel they can successfully meet or exceed the criteria below.
This position will assist in all aspects of opening a new building, including but not limited to: development of budget; work with building contractors and GVCC; conduct parent meetings; recruit, interview, select, staff members; cultivate, implement, and support the mission, vision, and strategic feedback; coordinate and support the professional development and instructional growth of all teaching staff; oversee ordering of curriculum, furniture, equipment, and supplies. The Principal will work with the school start-up team to have the new facility ready to open by August of 2014. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work with all stakeholders responsible for construction of new building
- Oversight of student achievement, discipline and attendance
- Staff selection, management, development, and evaluation
- Establish and implement effective communications with the local Board of Directors, the Global Village Charter Collaborative Board ,and all local school stakeholders
- Implement effective student recruiting strategies that enable the school meet its enrollment goals
- Manage the local school finances with the scope of the approved budget
- Community outreach and increasing stakeholder support
- Work with the Global Village Charter Collaborative (GVCC) support team regarding human resources, finance, technology, professional development, mentoring, marketing, and legal support
- Develop and implement he school's uniform improvement plan with feedback from the School Accountability Committee to ensure achievement for every child
- Direct all programs necessary for the educational, operational and financial well-being and success of the school
- Serve as the primary instructional coach for the teaching faculty, providing regular observations and data-based performance feedback
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Colorado Principal's License. Previous experience opening a school or school building preferable.
EXPERIENCE: Over 5 years administration, 7 years of experience (including the 5 years) in public education within the school setting, including teaching.
