Summary: Provide quality instruction in a broad range of math skills that are grade appropriate and that are crucial stepping stones to higher math learning and critical thinking. Professional Responsibility - Demonstrate sound professional teaching and classroom management skills to facilitate learning.
- Use oral and written language skills accurately and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of student academic and behavioral progress, attendance, test scores and personal information.
- Carry out daily formal and informal assessments of student achievement.
- Integrate the assessments to design appropriate lesson planning and effective teaching strategies to accommodate diverse student needs and learning styles.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student, family, and colleague information to be a role model of respectful behavior at all times.
- Maintain good classroom management.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Instruction/Curriculum - Plan long-term as well as short-term objectives of instruction.
- Plan and present lessons to promote and supplement skills, concepts, and strategies introduced in the classroom.
- Perform integrated and trans-curriculum lesson planning in collaboration with student’s classroom teachers.
Qualifications: BA/BS from accredited college or university; valid Colorado License endorsed in area of assignment - Secondary Math or have passed the PLACE or PRAXIS II test in Math or take test within 90 days of hire and pass.
